Another Paradise Experience in MINILOC Island, El Nido
This is another paradise I tell you. Though we only had a couple of hours visit, but this is stunning! I should say that this is suitable for family with children, but of course if honeymooners or young couples feel to stay here, then I don't see any problem at all. It depends what you want to do during your stay in El Nido. But based on my observation, Lagen Island is more romantic than Miniloc Island, when it comes
We went snorkeling in one of the islets around. Also at its very doorstep, the long dock where guests are welcome, guests can snorkel alongside 3-foot long groupers and hundreds of sergeant majors, damsel fish, fusiliers, and other multi-colored fishes.
Our Paradise Experience in LAGEN El Nido Palawan
Visiting this place is a superb! It was one of our wonderful holidays my husband and I have ever had so far, I should say. It wasn't that expensive really, it is worth of your money. We stayed there for 3nights/2 days package, we really had a great time there, and we both love this place, this is a paradise! This is known for it's preserved nature, very unique from its ageless towering marble cliffs to its white sandy beaches with crystal clear water.

Sending Shouts on DIGG - Fun!!
For these past couple of days, I've been busy adding new friends and just keep on digging other members' stories. Until today, I said to myself "I must start sending shouts to my friends", and for the record, it took me almost a week trying to figure out how to send my shouts to ask the favor back from the favors I've been giving.
At last, I just did and started receiving loads of traffic now... This is one of the most effective ways to get more traffic. Enjoy digging stories.

Truth About Red Wine - "French Paradox "
What a big surprise to me when the narrator started talking about the "French Paradox" (which was fresh in my ears), that drinking of red wine has been attributed with the low incidence of CHD in France. The benefit comes from both the alcohol content and the polyphenols found predominately in red wine. It combats the effect of fatty diet which results to "heart diseases", which French people are known to have.
Take note of this, as per the record - France has got one of the lowest rate of heart disease, despite of the fact that they love eating fatty foods. What is the secret? They drink lots of red wine. Now what are the benefits you could from red wine?
The cardiovascular benefits of red wine are a result of its alcohol and flavonoid content. Alcohol alone in doses of 20 to 30 gm/day can decrease CHD by 40%. The alcohol content of red wine is responsible for the effective absorption of flavonoids and tannins. Red wine also contains a large amount of folic acid, other vitamins and potassium and magnesium, which have beneficial cardiovascular effects.
Don't Loose Your Passion To Dreams
"O sonho comanda a vida",
which means
"You dreams is your driver in life"
When I was young, first thing that I ever wanted to was to reach my potential in singing. I was not a very good singer though, but I can sing I tell you, an average singer I should say. Nothing really special about my voice at all! I am a Pastor's daughter (used to be an active youth member), so I used to sing in the church as one of our church's choir members, and I can still remember how I was envious to some other members who really have a stunning voice, compared to mine... but it didn't stop me from singing. I always have the passion to dream of singing.
I may not doing any practice at all, I don't sing more often either, however, every time I tune in to music videos or cd's and hear Mariah Carey, Shaniah Twain, Beyonce, Faith Hill, Britney Spears plus among other favorite ones, THEY ALWAYS MAKE ME FEEL FRESH OF MY DREAM TO BECOME A VERY GOOD SINGER.
"Passion" for me is all about your undying dream for something that you ever wanted to do in life. Passion for something would never ever come into reality if you'll loose it. So, don't ever loose your passion to dream! Dream is our driver to achieve something in life.
I still believe that one day I can be a very good singer, who knows, not necessarily to make profit out of it, but at least to realize one of my dreams.

Love Inside Your Heart
This could mean a lot like:
1) Enduring giving support to your family even if you have your own family already, sending your brothers & sisters to universities. Giving your support in every way as one way of saying thanks especially to your parents.
2) Having a heart of sparing money to help other people.
3) Giving donations to church where you used to attend and to your school where you spent your elementary and high school years.
4) Keep on practicing singing! Who knows maybe one day you'll become a very good singer, may not be a famous but at least to achieve something.
5) Keep cooking and baking, experimenting from cook books.
6) Explore your potential (if you see any) on designing invitations, stationaries by using your computer at home, etc...
7) Don't loose your hope of becoming a degree holder on your profession. Accounting graduate? You'll become a CPA one day, believe that.
8) You wanted to become a mother? Think positive, you will become eventually.
9) Love writing and telling stories? Try blogging and reach your potential here.
10) Want to be updated on your work daily task? Well, control yourself in blogging...
Take it easy... and that's myself who's heart has always space of everything I really love to be doing and to accomplish something in the end.
One of my bad days at work!
What have I done now?.. with tears, asking yourself where, how & why that happened!... and inquiring your inner thoughts - have I done something wrong towards him or her? Or have I said something wrong or negative to someone, have I hurt her or him? You know, these sorts of questions would come if you are not guilty of doing such!
This is exactly what happened to me one day at work. I was so helpless, powerless, very weak, feeble, defenseless during that day! What I did was only to cry and cry and cry, until I went to see my husband to tell everything what had happened, then I gained courage and strength.
I tell what, you may feeling down and upset....but remember that at the end of the day, it wasn't your fault at all. Just ignore it and pray that he'll or she'll realize what he or she was doing.
Happy reading...

Wished I Could Be A Full-Time Blogger
Anyway, so now that I have two blogs, it would have been very interesting and exciting (especially talking about all my wedding planning experience), to write posts all day long. I would never ever feel tired of doing it.
I just have no choice at all, all I do is to live with it - serving two masters at the same time - which are my job (daily task) and blogging. Well, I'll be alright.. for as long as I have time for both.
I really do enjoy blogging.....

Anyway, seriously I am still going to create another blog - if this is about my life's journey, my second one will be about "dreams". The title would be "Don't Loose Your Passion to Dream" which is very interesting really. Basically, I will share in this blog my passions of dreaming and aiming for anything that I know for sure I love to do.

This is my whole family picture.
You may wonder why I had to post this and write something about it. I just wanted to share with you my little hobby of playing with design templates - inserting photographs on to them! Free and ready templates can be found in www.imikimi.com. An interesting hobby I must admit and I do believe that it results into an end product of sorts like for example, in a calendar making, wall decorating print outs or to be used as designs for pillow cases, etc. This is a pillow case - exactly what I am talking about! Designing and
printing from your computer at home, you'll have a personalized

Simple Body Stetching to Relieve Stress
I already have given you some tips, which you can read on my previous post about Stress-Relieving, Fun-Producing Tech Toys.
I have learned that stretching exercises stimulate receptors in the nervous system that decrease the production of stress hormones, it relaxes tight, tense muscles and increase blood flow to the muscles. It also helps to relieve stress as they get the blood flowing - improving circulation while adding flexibility and relieving muscle tension.
Stand with your feet hip-width apart and your legs slightly bent. Raise one of your arms and place your hand over your back. Try to reach as far down the midline of your spine as possible. Increase the stretch by gently pushing the elbow back with your other hand. Hold the position for 30 seconds. Feel the stretch down the back of your arm. Slowly return to the start position and repeat with the other arm.
Stand with your feet hip-width apart and your legs slightly bent. Clasp your hands behind your back. Pull your tummy muscles in and keep your head, neck and shoulders relaxed. Keeping your back straight, lift your arms away from your back until you can feel the stretch across your chest. You should feel your chest "opening". Hold the stretch for 30 seconds, then return to the start.
Stand with your feet hip width apart and your legs slightly bent. Straighten your arms out in front of you and clasp your fingers together. Keeping your lower back firm and your body upright, gently push your hands away from you. Feel the stretch across your upper back and at the back of your shoulders. Hold for 30 to 45 seconds and then slowly lower your arms to the start position. Also, I do some body twisting techniques too. To give you an exact idea how to do it properly, please copy this URL to your browser to be able to see.

My Own Ways of Pampering Myself

Diamond Peel is very effective in treatment of:
- aging and sun damaged skin
- acne scaring and acne skin
- pigmentation marks
- minimizing stretch marks
- scars and age spots
- enlarged pores
- hard to treat lips and character line
- skin and body rejuvenation

3) Body Stone Massage - This a smooth, polished Basalt Lava Stones that are heated and applied to the body with deep heat therapy and relaxing massage. The Hot Stones ease tight muscles, relieve stress and ground the body. Absolutely the ultimate in relaxation, I must admit I need this more often. Ummm just imagine how my stress level accumulates in months and months of staying here.
4) Nail Treatments - Like manicure, pedicure, foot and hands massage. I do it once a week.
5) Hair Treatments - Do you know that I have been keeping my long hair for almost 5 years now, and I love my hair seriously! It's only a matter of taking care of them, giving them the vitamins they need such as applying conditioners, and go to a hairdresser at least once in every two months or every time you feel the need to, for a relax or a cellophane.
So my dear readers, give yourselves a reward by giving some treats that you enjoy doing.

Diamond Life in CUANGO, Angola
Staying here in the middle of nowhere is not really that bad, it's only a matter of determining what you want in life. Money is here I tell you, you know why?... because we don't spend any penny at all, we save a lot. Imagine 4 months (some are on 9 & 12 months contract) of staying here without shopping, we don't buy foods, pay electricity, telephone, gas, etc... Our monthly salary goes to our bank straight away. One more thing, we are not allowed to bring cash on site (this has something to do with buying diamonds from illegal diggers - we call them Garimpero).

Hermanus, South Africa Break
It was September, a season which you can experience watching huge whales! The Hermanus Whale Festival normally takes over a 4 day period, the seaside village becomes a smorgasbord of music, theatre, arts and crafts. The southern right whales are the main attraction and come to the coastline to calve and nurse their babies.
This area is exactly where we watch massive whales, watching them playing.
Then we went on top of the mountain to see the beauty of the town. Indeed, it was a perfect day and truly a very beautiful place..
Flower Festival was one of the highlights in Hermanus during the time between September to October. Look at these 3 gorgeous flower species we saw there, these were only from among hundreds of them! Shame I didn't take more...

Kimberlite Pipe Animation
Since I am working here in a diamond mine, I should know at least the basics about diamonds;
like how they were formed and how they were transformed in million years. Not all mining companies here in Angola are digging diamonds, some are mining Kimberlite and I used to wonder the difference between KIMBERLITE and DIAMOND.Kimberlite is a volatile-rich, potassic, ultrabasic igneous rocks that occurs as small volcanic pipes, dikes and sills. Kimberlite pipes are the most important source of mined diamonds today. Therefore, Kimberlite serves as a carrier of diamonds.
To know more about Kimberlite, please click this interesting link below:

Pride of BOHOL

Being a proud "boholana", let me tell you something about my place. Small yet very nice, lovely place to stay, you can see loads of reserved places, beaches, animals, and so many others that you could not find in any other visayas places anymore. People in Bohol have managed to maintain it, probably because its reputation and promoting tourism.
Sometimes the best experiences in traveling are the unexpected finds. And so it is with Bohol, that island province that is nestled in the heart of Central Visayas and is aptly called "God's Little Paradise" by those who are caught off-guard by its mystery and charm.
Located southeast of Cebu and southwest of Leyte, Bohol is comprised of 47 towns and its capital, Tagbilaran City. Oval in shape like the proverbial ubing kinampay or purple yam, its total land area is 411,726 hectares including 73 other islands and islets. Upon hearing about Bohol, most people would surmise it to be a typical uncolorful province with only the world-famous Chocolate Hills as its attraction. But the marvelous 1,001 nature-perfected conic hills aren't all there is. Blessed with Mother Nature's bounty, Bohol has numerous natural attractions that will captivate a person, hold him in breathless admiration and beckon him to keep coming back for more.
Bohol's beauty lies in its unpolluted waters and shorelines of white sand beaches. Lovers of scuba diving can explore the depths of Bohol's waters which are rated among the best diving havens in the world and famous not only for its richness in marine life and corals but also for its being the home of the world's rarest shells such as the Gloria Maris and the Golden Cowry.
it is also the home of the Tarsier, the big-eyed insect insect-eating primate whose size is smaller than one's fist. Scientists regard the tarsier as the oldest mammal now inhabiting the earth.
Other added attractions are waterfalls amidst verdant forests, caves with stalagmites and stalactites, natural parks, exotic wildlife, centuries old churches, and many historical landmarks. Delicacies too, which are truly Boholano like the sticky concoction in a coconut shell called calamay, mouth-watering peanut kisses, hojaldres, kinatloan and many more.
Bohol has a rich historical and cultural heritage. History tells us that the first international peace treaty, otherwise known as the "Blood Compact" between Sikatuna and Legazpi, was made on the island.
Boholanos are said to be valiant in character as accounted for by the Tamblot and Dagohoy rebellions. At the same time they are peaceful, self-reliant and deeply religious. But the peace-loving Boholanos are not docile, weak or submissive people when their rights are trampled or provoked.
Determined to go with the national trend towards progress, the province has now joined the bandwagon of urban and countryside development. Industries have sprouted along continuous improvement of infrastructure and other physical resources. Like her booming neighbor Cebu, Tagbilaran is already fast becoming highly commercialized with increased trading activities. And with the recent declaration of Panglao Island as the first tourism estate in the country, investors keep pouring in.
It's only a matter of time, given the necessary impetus for economic development, that progress for Bohol will finally be achieved. And this dream is not far behind considering the resiliency and industry of the Boholano people.
BOHOLANA - "BISDAK", Pride of Bohol
When I was still at university in Manila (Philippines Christian University), in my block section, I was the only one from Bohol. There were from other Visayas provinces but not exactly from where I came from. I tell you what, when everybody learned that I was from "J" and "H" place, they started teasing me by talking boholano way. But to tell you honestly, I never ever learned the correct way of speaking boholano, due to the fact that we used Cebuano in our island than boholano. Even here at work, all the Filipinos tease me all the time. The truth is, I am from Bohol, whether I speak boholano or cebuano, still I am a very proud "Boholana".
BOHOLANO is a local dialect of Cebuano/Visayan that is spoken in the island of Bohol. It is sometimes described as a separate language, as it is a dialect only for Boholano people.
Boholano, especially the dialects used in Central Bohol, can be distinguished from other Cebuano dialects by a few phonetic changes. Like for example the "y" sound in Cebuano becomes "j" ("iya" in Cebuano becomes "ija"), the "k" sound sometimes becomes "h" ("ako" in Cebuano becomes "aho") the "l" sound sometimes if it is used in the second or following syllable becomes "w" ("kulang" in Cebuano becomes "kuwang").
Here are some examples:
Cebuano: Iyaha man na. = Boholano: Ijaha man na. In Tagalog means "Kanya yan", and in English goes "That's his or her".
Cebuano: Akoa man ni. = Boholano: Ahoa man ni. In Tagalog means "Akin to", and in English goes "This is mine".
Philippine Tarsier
I am from Bohol, but I didn't manage to see it myself until I was 27, it was during the time when I came home with my husband (he was still my boyfriend then). We went on together and decided to tour around Bohol. Indeed, Tarsier is a very small, long-tailed monkey (this is what we call it). Well, it was great to have seen myself at last! At least I know what I am talking about when we talk about this famous smallest money in the world that is found in my homeland. The Philippine Tarsier (Tarsius syrichta), known locally as the Mawmag in Cebuano/Visayan, in an endangered tarsier species endemic to the Phillippines. Its name is derived from its elongated "tarsus" or ankle bone.
The Philippine Tarsier is a tiny animal, measuring about 4 to 6 inches (15 cm) in height. The small size makes it difficult to spot. The average mass for males is around 134 grams, and for females, around 117 grams. The average adult is about the size of a human fist and will fit very comfortably in the human hand. It has thick and silky fur which is colored gray to dark brown. The thin tail, usually used for balance, is naked or bald except for a tuft of hair at the end, and is about twice the body length. Its elongated "tarsus," or ankle bone, which gives the tarsier its name, allows it to jump at least three meters from tree to tree without having to touch the ground.
It's habitat is the second growth, secondary forest, and primary forest from sea level to 700 m. Its habitat also include tropical rainforest with dense vegetation and trees that offer it protection like tall grasses, bushes and bamboo shoots.
Whoever wishes to go to Bohol, just don't forget to see these famous Tarsier yourself.
Life and It's Expectations
Life is full of expectations and disappointments, hopes and despair. It is said life takes a new turn for men and a women after their wedding. The newlyweds feel the sun shines for them; the stars in the sky are for them to reach out and touch. The only thing amongst them is love and admiration for each other. Life seems to be like a bed of roses, then kids come along and responsibilities are increased, which the new parents shoulder more than readily. Over the course of time, somewhere along the line, love evaporates between the parents and is sought by their kids, who reciprocate it fully. The lives of parents revolve around the their children; teaching them the ways of life, inculcating morals and values, and then one fine day they grow up to be a fine human. By this time, parents are on the threshold of their old age. They expect the children to serve and make them an important part of their life, which creates problems. Why do parents feel the need to dictate terms? Bringing up kids is the most joyful experience. Is it so that we wish to be compensated for the time spent in bringing them up?
Once the child is an adult it has its own mind. Who are parents to interfere? The basic values that were inculcated in them as a child, by parents, help them in a long way. Why judge them? Let them explore life on their own. Don't decide for them; be a part of their decision and not the part of their discussion.
As Geeta says: "Until age 5, the child is the whole sole responsibility of mother. From 5 to 10, values are inculcated. From 10 to 15, watch over them with an eagle eye. 15 onwards, let go of them. They shall prove to be a better human than what we think them to be ."

Living Each Day
Each day is a precious gift, so we have take the most of it!
YES, I do agree completely! God has created everyday - a special day and a gift for all of us! I actually feel embarrassed if I hear people complaining about their day, or to have wished that day should have never arrived, or tomorrow would never to come...all of these sorts of attitudes, without realizing that God gave us everyday always special in every way we do and we encounter. I was so blessed after reading this story, so I am sharing this to you now. I am sharing the thought of it that God wanted us to realize.
And the story goes............
The 82-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud lady, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with her hair fashionably coifed and makeup perfectly applied, even though she is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today.
Her husband of 60 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.
After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, she smiled sweetly when told her room was ready.
As she maneuvered her walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of her tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on her window. "I love it," she stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.
"Mrs. Jones, you haven't seen the room .... just wait."
"That doesn't have anything to do with it," she replied. "Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged, it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away, just for this time in my life."
She went on to explain, "Old age is like a bank account, you withdraw from what you've put in. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories Thank you for your part in filling my Memory bank. I am still depositing."
And with a smile, she said: "Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less."
Don't Be Afraid to Fail
John says, "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us" (1 John 1:8).
To tell honestly, I already have failed plenty times in my life! I know we all do. But it's only a matter of dealing with it, some people treat those failures as lessons for them to carry on however, some of us don't even want to try because they are afraid of failing. There's always one phrase comes every time we think about of taking a step - "What if we don't succeed?, and "What if we fail?"...and the next question would be, "what is going to happen next after I fail?". Typical human nature I should say.
However, we should always remember that since everyone fails, we shouldn't be afraid to fail. As a matter of fact, we should realize we'll make mistakes and seek to learn from their them, rather than cowering from the fear of failure. We have failed many times, although we may not remember. We fell down the first time we tried to walk. We almost drowned the first time we tried to swim, didn't we? Did we hit the ball the first time we swung a bat? Heavy hitters, the ones who hit the most home runs, also strike out a lot.
R.H. Macy failed seven times before his store in New York caught on. English novelist John Creasey got 753 rejection slips before he published 564 books. Babe Ruth struck out 1,330 times, but he also hit 714 home runs.
We can't be afraid to fail, spiritually or materially. We must step out as God's children and do His work, showing kindness to everyone around us, willing to give of ourselves to help those in need.
Don't worry about failure. Worry about the chances you miss when you don't even try.

How I got ENGAGED - in the "Middle of Nowhere"
It is pretty much normal to most women or all "bride-to-be", that they all make their efforts to have a very unique, gorgeous and successful engagement parties. As you can see on magazines and television about engagement stories, how romantic they were, and read various stories.Let me ask one thing? Have you ever think of taking that step "proposal" and about of having an engagement party in the middle of nowhere? This is my real life's experience here in the middle of nowhere Angola, Africa.
The pressure of actually coming up with an idea for popping the question was one of our primary concern at those times. We both even were relatively sure "we were going to say yes". However, instead of popping up the typical question "will you marry me", we both asking each other "ARE WE BOTH READY FOR A LIFETIME COMMITMENT"?, and both were in teary eyes, very romantic though. It was November of 2006 and I didn't get my ring until we went on leave together last February 2007, and we did finally announced our engagement by May 19th at the same year by throwing a party. We were blessed with a heavy rain 2 hours before the time (6-8pm), it did stop at about the right time @ half passed the 8th in the evening! WOW amazing wasn't it?

Some photographs as you can see...
How to have lovely hands
Hey girls, this tips are absolutely for us! We tend to ignore them and focus on some other things instead. Very good example is myself, I do pick my finger nails especially when I am not doing anything at all or while watching TV, which is really a very bad practice isn't it?
Well, I am becoming more aware now on how to maintain them to have a lovely hands, and here's how:1) Cleanse and exfoliate. Wash with a gentle soap or hand wash. Exfoliate once or twice a week.
2) Moisturise. Use a good hand cream or lotion in the morning and at night, and every time you do the dishes or immerse your hands in water for a period of time.
3) Pay special attention to cuticles. Never pick at torn skin, it is a sure way to painful infections. Soften them with cuticle oil. Needless to say, this is one of my bad habits. I need to stop this!
4) Use sunscreen. Compare your left and right hands, the latter being the one that's exposed to the window while you drive. Chances are your right hand shows more brown spots, darker and drier skin than your left hand. Enough reason to cover both your hands with an SPF15 sunscree - no less.
4) Protect. Harsh chemicals in household cleaners can leave hands dry, cracked and sore. Always wear rubber gloves around the house and gardening gloves if you like pottering outdoor.
Well ladies, I have started doing these little ideas of mine, hope you do too.

10 Ways to Save Money on Food Shopping
And if you're craving something sweet? Like me, it happens to me several times! One day, I don't, the next day all I wanted is to eat sweet... and it's not just small quantities, I tend to eat more the moment I taste it. That's why sometimes, I'd rather deprive myself in the beginning than to have a little bit, because that little bit will become plenty and I always wanted some more, more and more.
"Save money by passing on calorie-dense cakes and cookies; instead, opt for seasonal fruit." I love fruits too. "Fruit is fat-free, high in nutrients and fiber, and a natural energizer." Look for sales or coupons for light ice cream or nonfat frozen yogurt to enjoy with your fruit, and you have a delicious, fat-free, low-calorie dessert. I always tell my husband that he is so lucky to have me as his wife, because I always look for bargains, which most of women do but not all. Do you agree with me girls?
Here are 10 simple strategies to beat the rising cost of food and help your grocery dollars go further:
1. Buy produce in season. Check the food section in your newspaper to find the best buys for the week, based on fresh produce in season. Food in season is usually priced to sell.2. Use sales and coupons. Planning meals around what's on sale can lower your grocery bills, especially if you also use coupons (make sure they're for item you would buy anyway). Sunday newspapers are full of coupons and sales circulars to get you started. It's also a good idea to stock up on staples when they're on sale. "Buy one, get one free" is basically a technique to get you to buy twice as much as you need at half the price.
3. Brown-bag it. Making lunch and taking it with you is a great money-saver and an excellent use of leftovers for meals at work, school, or wherever your destination. Pack a simple sandwich, salad, soup, wrap, and/or a hearty snack of cheese. Use freezer packs and containers to keep food at the proper temperature unless you have access to a refrigerator.
4. Think frozen, canned, or dried. Next time you're gathering ingredients for a recipe, try using frozen, canned, or dried foods. They may be less expensive than fresh, yet are equally nutritious. Produce is typically frozen, canned, or dried at the peak of ripeness, when nutrients are plentiful.
5. Save on protein foods. When possible, substitute inexpensive, vegetarian sources such as beans, eggs, tofu, and legumes for more expensive meat, fish, or poultry. Eggs are an excellent, inexpensive source of protein that can be eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You could also try using a smaller portion of meat, fish, or poultry and extending the dish with whole grains, beans, eggs, and/or vegetables.
6. Waste not, want not. Before you toss perishable food into your grocery cart, think about exactly how you'll use it. Try topping a bed of fresh greens with vegetables, fruits, and slices of leftover chicken. Add a loaf of whole-grain bread, and presto! You've got a nutritious meal in minutes. You can also eat leftovers for breakfast or take them with you for lunch.
7. Go generic. Consider buying store brands instead of pricier national brands. "All food manufacturers follow standards to provide safe food and beverage products of high quality." Many grocery companies buy national-brand products made to their specifications and simply put their own label on the products. Read the ingredient list on the label to be sure you're getting the most for your money. Ingredients are listed in order by weight.
8. Buy prepackaged only if you need it. Unless you have a coupon or the item is on sale, buying prepackaged, sliced, or washed products comes with a higher price tag.
9. Buy and cook in bulk. Bulk purchases can be a great way to save money - as long as they get used. You might also look in your community for shopping cooperatives that sell food in bulk at a substantial savings.
10. Plant a garden. For benefits that go beyond cost savings, plant your own produce. There's nothing better than a summer-fresh tomato from the garden. Tomatoes even grow well in containers if you don't have space for a garden, and some neighborhoods offer community gardening spaces. Start small, and see how easy it is to grow fresh herbs or a few simple vegetables. And if you invest a little time in freezing or canning your harvest, you can enjoy summer's bounty all year long.

Broccoli 'could help fight cancer'
This is what I saw when I first opened my email today on yahoo!! I didn't know that BROCCOLI could help fight cancer. WOW, amazing. Please read the whole article about it. I tell you what, I never used to eat Broccoli, I tried it when I visited my in-laws in the UK. My mother in-law cooked one day for us, she asked me "do you eat this"? Broccoli she meant, I said straight away NO, but have you tried this she replied back, I said no "I haven't" because I don't eat and I don't like vegetables. So she said to me back, how did you know that you don't like it while you haven't it yet? I said, yea okay I will just try a bit. Then I had some, "I LIKED IT"... and what a coincidence to have read this article!

Broccoli may combat prostate cancer by altering the activity levels of genes involved in tumour growth, a ground-breaking study has shown.
Scientists made the discovery after adding either peas or broccoli to the normal diets of two groups of men for a year.
During the study tissue samples were removed from the men's prostate glands and analysed using "gene chip" technology to gauge the activity of thousands of genes. The results showed that a broccoli-rich diet produced changes in gene activity, or expression, that were likely to prevent or hinder cancer growth and inflammation in the prostate.
In particular, biological signalling pathways involving two growth factors, TGF beta 1 and EGF, as well as the hormone insulin, were altered.
Growth factors are proteins that typically stimulate cell division or development, and often play a role in cancer. TGF beta 1, EGF and insulin signalling have all been implicated in prostate and other cancers.
Messenger RNA - the molecule that carries genetic instructions to protein-making machinery in the cell - was also affected by eating broccoli, the scientists found. The implications of this are still being investigated.
Before the study it was already known that eating as little as one portion of broccoli every week can reduce the risk of prostate cancer, and lessen the chances of confined cancer becoming more aggressive.
However scientists have been unable to explain with any certainty how the process works. Animal and laboratory experiments have suggested possible mechanisms but involved doses of broccoli extract far in excess of what would be consumed in real life.
The new study is said to be the first in which gene expression in a target tissue has been studied after a dietary intervention.
Professor Richard Mithen, from the Institute of Food Research in Norwich, who led the British and Italian team, said: "This is the first study providing experimental evidence obtained in humans that diets rich in cruciferous vegetables may reduce the risk of prostate cancer."

BLOGS versus E-MAIL
When I started blogging, which is only recently, I am beginning to realize the essence or what is it on blogging that makes people become addicted to, and I am one of them. It is worth knowing the difference between blogging and email.
Both BLOGS and EMAIL are online communications tools. Some of the ways that blogs can be similar to and different from email include:
1) Both can be Web based, which means their functionality is based within a Web site and on Web pages.
2) Both usually (but not always) originate from one person.
3) E-mails are considered messages. Blog posts are considered entries on a page.
4) E-mails originate from a sender and are sent to recipient or recipients. Blog posts originate with the blogger and are "sent" to the blog and then posted on blog's Web page.
5) E-mails are generally considered private messages between the sender and recipient(s). Although blog posts can be private between the blogger and a specified group of visitors who have been granted access, they are more often public messages posted by the blogger.
6) E-mails are most often meant to be one-to-one communication unless the sender is using an e-mail list, which is the one-to-many. Blog posts are most often used for one-to-many communication, although the many can also be limited to one or to a few others.
7) E-mails are typically archived on a person's computer within his e-mail software program. If is he using Web based e-mail, then the archive exists on the Web. While blog posts are usually archived on the Web. Sometimes a blogger may archive his posts on his computer, but this is not a common practice.
Simply put, e-mail is sent to one person to to many people via the internet. A blog post is not being sent away; it is sent to a blog, appears on the blog and remains within the blog in the blogger's archive.

Using ActiveSync to Run your Windows Mobile
When I first got my HP PDA Phone (gift from my sister), I once had a problem on how to save music, save files unto my mobile and even upload some music into it. Wow, thanks that I've learned using this ActiveSync Program.
It acts as the gateway between your Microsoft Windows-powered PC and Windows Mobile powered device and allows you to synchronize Microsoft Outlook information, Microsoft Office documents, pictures, music, videos and applications to and from your device.
In addition to synchronizing with a desktop PC, ActiveSync allows you to synchronize Microsoft Outlook information directly with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, so that you can keep your e-mail, calendar data, tasks and contact information updated wirelessly when you’re away from your desktop or tablet PC.*
If you are using a USB cable to connect your device to the computer, and if ActiveSync does not recognize the device or the program stops responding while connecting to ActiveSync, this might be caused by: 1) Missing or incorrect drivers. 2) A poor physical connection between the device and the computer. 3) A malfunctioning device.
3) Disconnect and reconnect the device.
4) Ensure that the device is connected to the computer using the USB cable that came with the device.
5) Connect the USB cable directly to the computer, bypassing any external USB hubs, docking stations, or other similar external USB ports.
6) Connect the device to a different USB port on the computer.
7) Disconnect, restart, and reconnect the device.
8) Disconnect the device, restart the computer, and reconnect the device.
9) Do the following:
a) Disconnect the device.
b) Remove ActiveSync using Add/Remove Programs.
c) Install ActiveSync.
d) Restart the computer.
e) Reconnect the device.
Metabolism Myths Debunked
Honestly speaking, I don't really bother about how my metabolism works. What I am always concerned about is, if I eat small meals every now & then I feel I do get fat...hehehehe... I know this sounds stupid, but let's get real here, do you feel the same way too as me? For me, for as long as I don't eat much and more often, I am safe. Until I have come to read this article... wow, enjoy reading....
Myth 1: Thin people have faster metabolism. Actually, a heavier person uses more kilojoules than someone slimmer because of the extra effort it takes to move more kilograms.
Myth 2: Cardio workouts are the best way to increase your metabolic rate. While 30 minutes of running will torch more kilojoules than 30 minutes of weight training, the latter keeps your metabolism is high gear for longer. Research shows that the more muscle you have, the higher your resting metabolism is - so you'll burn more kilojoules, even when you're sitting still.
Myth 3: You get fatter as you get older. Although it's true that metabolism slows with age, the natural change is small - about four percent per decade if you exercise. The main reason women gain weight as they age is that they become less active and lose muscle mass.
Well, ladies it's about time for us to make a move especially that we are not getting any younger anymore...hehehe
Making Most of Yoeur Metabolism
"Your 24-hour Guide to Boosting the Metabolism You've Got - For a Slimmer, More Energised You"
7am - Open your shadesYour body metabolism nods off while you sleep because you aren't active. Getting a quick hit of sunlight decreases sleep hormones, like melatonin, and helps to wake up your metabolism.
7:30am - Sit down to breakfast
"You need to eat first thing in the morning or your body switches into conservation mode, which means you'll burn kilojoules at a slower rate", says Tanya Zuckerbrot, author of The F-Factor Diet (Putnam). She recommends fueling up with a bowl of oats and some fruit, or a high-fibre cereal.
8:00am - Run up the stairs
Just one 30-second sprint increases your body's production of human growth hormone (HGH) five fold. It's HGH that helps maintain muscles, which burn more kilojoules than fat.
9:00am - Drink a glass of water
When German researchers had 14 volunteers drink two cups of water, their metabolism jumped to 30% after 40 minutes - and stayed at a higher rate for an hour. Even mild dehydration will slow your metabolism by as much as three percent.
11:00am - Take a quick stroll around the office or house
Getting up from your desk more often - and moving around the office or inside your house, or even taking a quick walk outside - can blast up to 1200 extra kilojoules every day, according to a study published in the journal Science.
2:00pm - Take a few deep breaths
"Stress hormones, like cortisol, can put a damper on your metabolism". When your day gets hectic, close your eyes and take a five deep breaths into your belly to reduce rising stress levels.
4:00pm - Have a 400-800kj Snack
"Eat something at least every four hour". When you consistently give your body food, your metabolism doesn't have a chance to slow down.
4:30pm - Do an interval training session
Varying your workout intensity bumps up your resting metabolism, so you continue to burn more kilojoules all day. Run or cycle at about 80% of your all-out effort for a minute or so, then slow down to 50% for a minute and a half, and repeat.
7:00pm - Eat a mix of lean protein, veggies, and whole grains
The protein will help you build lean muscles, and the veggies and grains provide long-lasting energy.
7:30pm - Take a multivitamin
It's insurance that you'll get enough of the nutrients especially vitamins B, C and D - that your metabolism needs to function properly.
10:00pm - Hit the hay
Studies show that sleep deprivation increases stress and lowers levels of the peptide hormone leptin, which causes you to feel hungry.
