Sunday's Dropping EC's, I Would Wish

I have been struggling of what our wifi connection had to give me at the moment! I was programmed to just drop EC's as much as I could on my 3 blogs, but it is not happening...uurrrrgggghhhhhhhh.....pisses me off...So I am here, sitting down waiting to completely download pages to be able to drop EC's, but I tell you what, it takes 5-10 minutes to do it....haaayyyyyyyyyyyyy...

Bear with me guys, you know how I wanted to visit your blogs and drop your EC's. Though I have managed to drop some but not quite satisfactory. Will try and try until I get to the top bottom...:)

Treadmill, My Diet Partner

I first experienced treadmill when I was on the process of completing all the medical requirements to come to work abroad, it was for at least 30 minutes! I loved it the fact that I felt my tummy muscle tension right after, and that's exactly what I needed.

Diamond Industry Holds Crisis

We are very much affected by the credit crunch everyone has had to experience due to worldwide financial crisis! We are working in diamond mining industry, the fact that diamond prices are down to at least 20%, though we have been trying to mine and produce more to compensate the loses, but then it is just quite difficult to make more, which would mean for us to spend more money to be able to get the same amount of money we used to get for a certain quantity. Now what will happen next? Everyone was insinuating to have a manpower downside in every department. It is sad because they have started to implement to have all the overtime to be cut, so no more extra money for the Filipinos and for the Nationals.

We normally get 50% of our basic salary as a "holiday pay" (this is once a year), which we then get paid for the month of November, plus another 50% as "Christmas bonus" on December. But we are told not to expect these two bonuses, as our company don't have enough money to pay all. Looks like that even then we meet our monthly target, we still don't get our monthly bonus.

This is on the news worldwide: Traders, cutters, polishers and producers from the world's top diamond hubs — including India, Israel, Dubai and China — held crisis talks in this Belgian city to keep the shine on their multibillion-dollar business. Industry leaders De Beers Group and Russian mining giant Alrosa announced plans to cut production of rough diamonds and to launch a massive media blitz in the United States to lure consumers back to jewelers and prevent a panicky markdown in prices. Still, industry experts warned of a possible 15 percent drop in sales in North America next year, a 10 percent sales drop in Europe and a five percent drop in Japan.

Gorgeous Breaks in CORNWALL

I have been to Cornwall myself just last April this year, together with my husband for the very first time! I didn't know anything about this place before, we came to visit my husband's brother down there. We stayed for about 5 days and It was lovely, wonderful place and I just love everything about this place. If I were have to be given for at least a week break, I would rather go back to this place again and book through Hotelshopuk. Stunning place which is known for its deserted coves and picturesque characters. It is also blessed with glorious gardens and with a mild climate. I enjoyed walking around the narrow streets in small towns, with shops around. Most of all eating their traditional Cornish fare of Pasty, Saffron Cake, and my favorite Cornish Cream Tea.

Among the places that I have been is St. Ives, a small town in the far west of the country. Though originally a fishing village, it has for the last 150 years become both a popular holiday destination and an internationally renowned school of painting. With narrow winding cobbled streets and passages, a magnificent harbour, and superb beaches, all just around the corner from Lands End. In summer the hanging basket flower planter displays all around the Harbour and the Main Streets are a delight to the eye. Those in front of the St Ives Tourist Information Centre, at the Guildhall, deserve a particular mention.

This is a place that truly has something for everyone. Families can spend countless hours playing in the golden sands of the resorts gently sloping beaches, or simply, taking a relaxing dip in the un-characteristically warm sea.

We also went to visit the "St. Michael's Mount", the most famous of Cornwall's landmarks, which has fascinating history, is stepped in both legend and folklore, it has a stunning panoramic views across Mounts Bay to Lands End and The Lizards. There are loads of beautiful towns and landmarks Cornwall has to offer to tourists, and we also we went to loads of places, like in St. Ives, our Geevor Tin Min tour which I will be telling you about this later.

Brisk Walk Can Curb Chocolate Cravings

Tell me one thing, who among you guys don't like chocolates? Eating chocolates is one of my weaknesses, no wonder I have put on 10 kgs since November last year! Huh? Seriously, YES... I couldn't truly resist chocolates, uumm yummy... Not unless if I don't see it, I less likely to eat. They are very fattening right? It has a special allure for many of us, bordering on the addictive. But a new study shows that taking a brisk walk can cut down the urge to eat chocolate -- and may help curb cravings that can derail weight loss efforts. When it comes to cravings, chocolate is the most common and "intensely" craved food, according to background information presented with the study findings.

Brisk walk is hustling, striding is another way to say brisk walking. For example, the way you walk if being late to catch up the bus or late for the meeting in the office. Taking a brisk walk also eased blood pressure readings for participants after the mental-challenge test and handling the unwrapped chocolate. Being sedentary did not appear to lessen cravings.

Facts About Food Cravings

In their study, the researchers also provided this background information about food cravings:

  • Up to 97% of women and 68% of men experience food cravings.
  • Cravings are usually for dense, calorie-packed foods.
  • Food cravings often come before a bout of unhealthy eating.
Apparently, this activity will melt away the pounds, tone our flabby bits and leave us on an emotional high. It is free, enjoyable and already a part of everyday life. All we need to do is correct your technique, walk faster and for longer and you will lose weight.

Could I Still Be Able To Recover My Wedding Blog?

I didn't forget it, I still feel sad about it! But, I can't afford to loose it, seriously!! Yesterday we phoned my hubby's parents, have asked them if possible for them to visit our flat to get all the documentations needed, scan them for me to submit to google to be able to recover my wedding blog. Lucky as I may say it, as they went to our flat just 3 days ago and decided to bring all the posts with them and sort them out at their place.

They sent the scanned copies straight away, and submitted them today. In fact, I wrote that I will be able to recover it soon, with a positive feelings. After submitting, this is what I got:

PPP Opps, At Long Last!!

I was approved on PPP about two months ago but since I've had noticed back then that all opps were mostly open to US residents, so I never got a chance to get even one, until I decided not to bother of checking anymore! I was just concentrating in writing on my own blog. Moreover, it really made me wonder also as to whether why most of my friends' blogs don't have google adsense ads? Do they make money at all, I ask myself...

My Early Christmas Present to my Sister

I have never met my American brother-in-law yet, James is his name. My sister was fortunate to have had given a chance to go to the US (as non-immigrant) with the help of her Mexican friend last February this year, whom she met when she first went to Portland late last year to work, and the reason why she had to pack up work was, she didn't manage to stand with the weather! It was December when she got there, was -15 degrees celcius as far as I can remember. She only managed to stay there for about 2 weeks.

She then met this guy, fell in love and got married! Huh? I beg your pardon? Yes, it is true! I was stunned upon realizing what she did without informing her family... I only knew that she got married after the wedding, when she sent me their photographs. After three months of staying as a non-immigrant and after several applications to change her status, she wasn't very lucky this time around, SHE HAD TO GO BACK TO THE PHILIPPINES while her husband back in the US have had applied for her spouse visa, which then after almost 6 months of waiting and staying apart, they still waiting for her interview schedule. It was originally scheduled last October, but apparently, it was changed because of the past US election, which the US government then prioritized all the immigrant applicants (so they can vote)... Now, the latest status was, it will be this early next year - February 2009!

I can imagine the emptiness they both feel inside, longing for each others' arms and wishing everyday to wake up next to each other. I have been chatting with him since then, he sounds quite a nice guy, and he tells me his life, how difficult it is now at the moment that it used to, and how he misses his wife, that if he will be given a chance to see my sister he would be very happy! I remember my sister told me that he didn't have a job for almost 3 months, I must have forgotten when I ask him "why don't you visit her to Philippines then?".. and he started telling me how that it wasn't possible due to financial problem, that he's trying to save money for both of them in February, for my sister to go back with him to the US after the interview considering she'll get her visa straight away!

I know he didn't tell me those stories for whatever personal motive he had, I can sense that he was telling me the truth without expecting anything. I tell you what, my heart cried out loud... I told him straight away, please plan for at least 2-3 weeks vacation and I will take care of your airfare!! I don't know, it was some kind of a strange, probably God would have spoken me right there. He was awfully happy and didn't stop of thanking me! All of a sudden, I know at that moment, I put smile on his face and excitement that he'll be seeing his wife soon, but a surprise visit. He wanted to surprise her, so he wasn't planning to tell my sister that he was coming home! I tried to arrange his hotel and who's going to pick him up at the airport, etc... In fact, I arranged with my sister to pick me up at the airport, without realizing that I wasn't really going home!

Anyway, he's been telling me that my sister Joy has been very sad upon knowing that they'll both spend Christmas away from each other and he couldn't stand on it! He feels sad and upset as well that he couldn't help it and make his wife happy... Therefore, he decided to tell her only today... it was also surprise isn't it of telling her that he'll be there soon... She buzzed me at YM and didn't want to stop thanking and that she's in tears of happiness. Sad isn't it, that two weeks ago you were very sad knowing that you couldn't be with your husband, and only today you learned all along??? Sadness being replaced by happiness and excitement!!

Though I could not be there to see them together, but my heart is full of happiness to imagine that I made them happy. Money is nothing when you'll know that you make their world perfect even in just a short period of time.

Advance Merry Christmas sister, I always try to help as much as I could... God is good, all the time, and all the time, God is good....

Until, they decided not to speak to me, about 7 of them...so I was under their personal politics which didn't truly bother me at all, and have soon realized that the more they saw me laughing and talking to everyone, the more they hated me until our friendship bridge collapsed. I then realized that it wasn't worth feeling down about it. I feel so sorry especially those who didn't even know me during those times (newly hired Filipinas), of what they have said about me. You know, I know you all familiar with a phrase "you can't expect your co-countrymen to be there for you"... in fact, sometimes they were the first ones to put you into the hitch. Shame, because we suppose to help each...

Anyway, to make the story short, my husband and I got transferred in another project (but same company), without realizing that we were be working with one of these Filipinas I was referring to (1 of the 7). We just stayed civil and tried to persuade her in a way that she made mistake of not knowing me first. But then, she was too high that I could hardly reach her! She never had spoken to me since, and yet I still try to become her friend... I always try building bridge between ourselves but she can't be bothered. Why?...I used to get upset every time I catch her attention but of no response, as if I don't exist. I just don't get the logic as to whether why she had to do that to me, until only recently, that I have given up! I managed to give in of my feelings (after a long time) of being so defenseless. I don't bother anymore. But I have noticed that she is trying to be friends with me now, for some reason which I don't know. Nothing wrong with that right?, and why not...

It is all about attitude, and after all, attitude is everything. This is I learned the secret of winning friends.

How Smile Turns Bad Mood to Extremely Good...

Well and good, so far, I have never encountered any problem in the past with my friends, families, daily encounters and whoever I called "close friends" though I don't spend much time with people these days. Yet, people would always tell me not to stop "smiling" every time they see my face with a puckered brow! What a huge effect unto other people's lives ones attitude! They even used to call me a "band mood booster", due the fact that I always smile at them... and every time they hear my laugh, it makes their day....

But until I got fed in this place, I never heard people longing for my smile anymore. I soon realized that why not, it is free anyway.
Laughter, some said it's the best medicine in the world. So start smiling and laughing as much as you can. Have a hearty laugh over every amusing situation. Laugh even at yourself and smile at the simplest pleasures in your life.

With smiles and laughter, your days will become lighter, more joyous and more bearable even on those hay-wired days. Your smiling face looks much more appealing and beautiful too.

Introducing My New Blog - "Things I Did Not Know Before"

Its about 2 weeks now that I have been busy with my new blog, which is about the same time when I lost my wedding blog, well not necessarily completely lost (was just temporarily suspended)! I could'nt really help myself but to feel sad all the time, as I have missed it a lot.. imagine I used to flip through it to view my wedding photos and read my own wedding stories! This is all about anything I have just discovered myself through reading and my own experiences.

My Wedding Blog has been Temporarily Suspended

I would have been informing everyone happily to change my Wedding Blog URL, to have recently purchased my own domain. Was so happy to have received this first email that Google had to send to me to confirm my purchase: "Thanks for buying from Google Apps using Google Checkout! But 3 days after I received another email again saying that: "We were unable to verify the account information for your recent purchase with Google Checkout. As a result, your account has been temporarily suspended and your recent order has been cancelled:"

This was mainly the reason why I didn't have any enthusiasm to blog these past couple of days, as I was so disappointed! Well, it is not really a problem, could have been worse if it was a different story, all I should be doing is to scan the documents needed to verify and send! However, the problem is - we are in the middle of nowhere, we have no access of our monthly billings, utility bills, etc... Had to ask my hubby's parents to drive up to our flat and get the corresponding documentations and scan for us, and it wasn't a problem either. The trouble is, the impossibility of my dad-in-law to drive, as he had just his arm surgery! Obviously, he could not drive.

Fingers crossed that his mum could do something about it, ask my hubby's sister instead to drive mum to visit our flat! By the way, my mother-in-law is too scared to drive that's why we can't ask her directly, because she can't do it.

I really missed my wedding blog.....I ask you to bear with me, and hopefully it will get sorted as soon as possible.

When Things Go Wrong - God is Still There...

We sometimes wonder if God is only for rich people, don't we?... and most of the times we think that He is only in favor to those who can afford to go to church and donate part of their wealth!

When we face a major disasters in life; such as a tornado, super typhoon, earthquake, terrorist attack, flood or even famine, and any major personal crisis, etc... are you anxious and fearful? Do you wonder if God really cares for you? Is He truly someone you can turn to when disaster strikes...

The answer is a solid “YES!” — God, the Creator of the universe, truly wants you to know Him. God wants us to rely on Him and experience His strength, love, holiness, compassion and help. Jesus says to all who are willing, “Come to Me all who are heavy burdened.” God tells us that He can be “our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.

You might be facing a difficult situation right now facing (or resulting from) a disaster. Whatever it may be, do not lose hope. There Is a path to true peace, which will enable you to deal with your anxiety and fears when disaster strikes.

Ironically, the solution may not come from changing a particular situation you are facing. Rather, it may come from beginning a personal relationship with the God who created you.

Consider this truth: God is well-aware of what disaster you are facing right now. Establishing a right relationship with Him may be the ultimate answer to many of the problems you face. If you now realize how much you need Him, read on.

1. God Loves You!

The Bible says, "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life"

3. God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins.

Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a sinless life and then died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. “God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”

Jesus rose from the dead and now He lives in heaven with God His Father. He offers us the gift of eternal life -- of living forever with Him in heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Me."

God reaches out in love to you and wants you to be His child. "As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name." You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come in to your life as your Lord and Savior.


4. If you want to accept Christ as Savior and turn from your sins, you can ask Him to be your Savior and Lord by praying a prayer like this:

"Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve you always."

Life and Love's Unending Journey

In 27 days time will be our first year wedding anniversary!, and I woke up this morning full of love and excitement, thinking of what I can do to have a very memorable celebration. Unremarkable delight and bliss is my ultimate goal until we celebrate our first year of marriage. While looking for an idea to write, to do or to prepare, I came to read this article. This is lovely...

In our journey in life, we are being told with lots of things and we tend to believe in the end, without realizing that it is merely just "us" who'll makes what we really are. Being Ordinary Is A Gift

Sometimes we feel too much insecurity as to why people don't seem to see us, we don't seem has ever existed in their lives, and don't even recognized us sometimes. We even hide ourselves from them from time to time. Generally speaking, this is what we usually feel and our common reaction towards. Nevertheless, without realizing the favor it is giving to us! What I am trying to say is that, being us "as an ordinary people", keeps us away from trouble the fact that we are not always the target of these what we call "politicians", who loves making other people life's into a difficult situation, who likes seeing other people unhappy! Which makes them happy!!

It is not good for all our wishes to be filled; through sickness we recognize the value of health; through evil, the value of good; through hunger, the value of food; through exertion, the value of rest.

"Healing Zen"
Often we take for granted just being ordinary. We feel the constant pressure to compete, to excel, and to be special. The fact is most people are average with respect to any particular human characteristic. That is the definition of average, and yet many are not satisfied with the average or ordinary and tend to be discontent and always striving. It is a great relief and healing when you realize that just being ordinary and your ordinary life are wonderful gifts. When people are ill often they long to return to their ordinary life and to be able to do the things they ordinarily do like climbing a flight of stairs, going grocery shopping, or driving a car. Many times when I have taken care of young people with a serious illness like diabetes they've felt sad and frustrated because they had to stick to a special diet and take insulin while all the other kids could eat whatever they wanted and just be normal. They longed to be able to do ordinary things in life like go to school, get a job, get married and have a baby. Many worked very hard to accomplish these goals.

Zen practice helps you full appreciate your ordinary life. With awareness, the ordinary becomes extraordinary. You need to pay attention to what you are doing. Be one with each task, action, or thing. In this way you will discover your true nature and the true nature of each thing will shine through, illuminating everyday life. You will perceive the richness of life and feel blessed just to be an ordinary person.
