BRANCH 309 - Big Brand Shoes @ A Little Prices

Chinese merchants always say (motto) "Little income but always". Like this UK based branded shoes sellers online, Branch 309 ships international that you can buy at a very reasonable price. When we were at home, I bought a pair but unfortunately they were too big for my feet! I am size 7 in Philippines (american size), but I didn't realize that I was only size 6 in UK, as I always thought that we have had the same measurement when it comes to shoes! Well, I have made a mistake. Obviously, I couldn't wear them so I had to give them to my mother-in-law. They were pretty, and exactly those sorts of style I was looking for.

Guess what? I probably would have just waited until we'll get home again, and possibly will buy the correct size for me, but I just couldn't... hehehe... and....... I bought a pair now just now. Look at the sandals, aren't they pretty? Can't really wait to finally have them. I have just received a confirmation to be shipped to the Philippines, and will just ask my sisters back home to send them through via Filipinos who will come back from vacation.
To those who loves shopping online (online shopping mania), take a look their website and enjoy looking your favorite designer shoes...

Our Wonderful Experience in HINGOTANAN ISLAND

Just few days before we flew to Manila, were told that it was been raining a lot and could be have been even worst in Bohol (the province where I come from)! But I tell you what, the day we got there, the weather was perfect, in fact, it was quite warn and humid.. Well, lucky huh! Though weather is so unpredictable. We had lots of fun. We went fishing and we used a proper fishing rod this time, not the ones island people are normally using; and take note, we used big artificial baits for small fish! We had a laugh really... admirably contented though we didn't catch at all! Other than anything else, it was such a pretty sunny day and because of too much excitement to have gone fishing at last, none of us had ever remembered to grab the sun protection. So what happened? After 3 days he was like a snake changing off skin hehehe...
Seeing my nephew for the first time

One of the most exciting things I did enjoy was to see my nephew BRENTT (1st grandchild of my parents), IN PERSON for the very first time. He is such a lovely and cheerful boy! My hubby and I were so impressed by way that he learns new things so quickly! I have thought him couple of simple things and he did it every time I asked him to do it, considering of his early age. He was only 9 months back then. He knew where to find the lizards, when you ask him where they are?, and he didn't want to use his bottle to drink water, he wanted cold water in a glass and he didn't want you to hold it either. He's a very independent little boy, and he likes SWEET MANGOES a lot!

We bought him a small guitar when we went around Bohol, thought he would have liked it! We were all stunned for the fact that he knew how to hold it properly!!,, and even his mother was amazed, so that would mean that neither his mother nor his father had ever taught him how to do it! He probably would have seen it and have registered it on his mind! _______________________________________________

Christmas Deals at H.Samuel and ARGOS UK

If we'll only be in the UK this coming Christmas I would have been busy looking for shopping deals, discounted prices to be given away as Christmas presents for my hubby's family, for my husband and myself. I have known about H. Samuel when I was busy searching for our wedding ring which we had to buy in UK. I had registered for a newsletter and every now and then I am receiving all their updates, price cut down, etc... Now, this is it... Cheap diamonds, jewelries for Christmas!, imagine they are up to 25% off...and there's no way for me to buy from here (Angola).

Argos is one of my favorite shopping place in UK. It is one of the most successful multi-channel retailers in the UK. The strength of the Argos brand sees approximately two thirds of UK households possessing an Argos catalog. Since the mid-1990’s Argos has transferred the success of its high street presence online and was the most visited high street department store retailer online in the UK in 2006 (Hitwise UK).

All you have to do is to look at their catalogs, write down the number reference of the items you want to buy, go to the nearest Argos shop, you can either pay by cash at the counter or use your cards through their automated machine and it gives you your shopping reference number, wait for your number to be called and that's it, you finish shopping! As quick as that! I have never seen like this in the Philippines yet.

Enjoy shopping for Christmas...

CLOMID (Clomiphene Citrate) - Fertility Drugs

Loosing your first baby, was absolutely a very devastating state in woman's life, especially if you really both looking forward to it! I didn't manage to work for at least 3-5 days. We were both dreadfully upset of losing our most wanted baby. In fact, it was our honeymoon baby and we believed that we lost twins.

Anyway, the moment I had miscarriage everyone learned about it and also was in distress! Well, there's nothing else we could do about it, except to hope for another one to come, hopefully a successful one by the next time we try again. I have been receiving loads of opinions and warnings from experienced ones, and one of my friends mentioned about CLOMID! It was my very first time to know about this, and she told me all the stories, successful stories of women (celebrities in Philippines), who apparently have had twins because of taking these tablets? Uuumm sounds interesting I said to her. I made some research about this, and I found out how these tablets work.

This medication is used to treat infertility in women. It works by stimulating an increase in the amount of hormones that support the growth and release of a mature egg (ovulation). This medication is not recommended for women whose ovaries no longer make eggs properly (primary pituitary or ovarian failure).

How to use Clomid Oral

Clomiphene must be taken by mouth exactly as directed by your doctor in order to be most effective. It is important to follow your dosing schedule carefully.

Your dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. Do not take it more often or for a longer time than prescribed by your doctor. Long-term treatment with this medication is not recommended and should not be more than 6 cycles.

My funny experience when I went to drugstore to buy this without any prescription!

When we went for 10 days in the Philippines last September, I was lucky to have remembered of going to one Mercury drugstore chain in Manila. I said, I didn't have any prescription with me since we both didn't have much time to see my Gyne. Therefore, I did go and asked the pharmacist if possible to buy even without prescription, it was a guy who assisted me! I got a cheeky smile from him instead, and everybody at the counter looked at me with smile on their faces. I said, what's wrong with that, I just wanted to get pregnant and have a baby!! They even more laughed at me. Few seconds later, my hubby arrived from another shop to buy something, and I said well they would not allow me to buy. What we gonna do? LOL, he said what can we do?, not really can't we?... we just left without being lucky! hehehehe...

I told my friend about what had happened, she enjoyed my story. Anyway, she will speak to her Gyne and will buy for me. I haven't tried them yet, nor have them now at the moment. Let see what happens when I get them.... uuumm exciting huh!!!

Sweetex Tablets, Artificial Sweeteners - Sugar Alternative

I have been using this as my sugar substitutes for ages already! I didn't like it at the beginning, it tastes weird! But the moment I got used to it, I was beginning to taste the real sugar as funny... This is a calorie free 800 sodium saccharin based table-top sweeteners. These tablets are ideal for everyone wishing to cut down on sugar, as part of a healthier lifestyle. One sweetex tablet is equivalent in sweetness tablet is equivalent in sweetness to a 5ml teaspoon of sugar but with none of the calories.

Sweetex is also suitable for use by people with diabetes, providing it fits into the individuals diet and consumption levels are not excessive. It can help slimming or weight control only as part of a calorie controlled diet.

Nutritional information per 100g per tablet: Typical values: Energy value KJ trace, trace. Kcal (calories) trace, trace. Protein. Carbohydrate. Fat Trace, trace.

FACTS ABOUT ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS

What are artificial sweeteners?

Artificial sweeteners are chemicals or natural compounds that offer the sweetness of sugar without as many calories. Because the substitutes are much sweeter than sugar, it takes a much smaller quantity to create the same sweetness. Products made with artificial sweeteners have a much lower calorie count than do those made with sugar. Artificial sweeteners are often used as part of a weight-loss plan or as a means to control weight gain.

People with diabetes may use artificial sweeteners because they make food taste sweet without raising blood sugar levels. But keep in mind that if you do have diabetes, some foods containing artificial sweeteners, such as sugar-free yogurt, can still affect your blood sugar level due to other carbohydrates or proteins in the food. Some foods labeled "sugar-free" — such as sugar-free cookies and chocolates — may contain sweeteners, such as sorbitol or mannitol, which contain calories and can affect your blood sugar level. Some sugar-free products may also contain flour, which will raise blood sugar levels. Also, remember that foods containing sugar substitutes may also contain calories that may undermine your ability to lose weight and control blood sugar.

Safety of artificial sweeteners

Artificial sweeteners are often the subject of stories, presented in the popular press and on the Internet, claiming that they cause a variety of health problems, including cancer. According to the National Cancer Institute, however, there's no scientific evidence that any of the artificial sweeteners approved for use in the United States cause cancer. And numerous studies confirm that artificial sweeteners are safe for the general population.

Aspartame does carry a cautionary note, however. It isn't safe for people who have the rare hereditary disease phenylketonuria (PKU). Products that contain aspartame must carry a PKU warning on the label.

Still empty calories

Just removing sugar from cookies and chocolates doesn't make them low-calorie, low-fat foods. If you eat too many, you'll still get more calories than you may need, and you may not get enough nutritious foods. Unlike fruits, vegetables and whole grains, sugar-free soft drinks, candy and desserts often provide few — if any — beneficial nutrients.

Use artificial sweeteners sensibly. It's OK to substitute a diet soda for a regular soda, for example, but diet soda shouldn't be the only beverage you drink.

Our Paradise Experience at Panglao Island Nature Resort

It was a last-minute decision, unplanned and our very first to visit this magnificent resort in this Tropical Island Paradise in Panglao Island located in Bohol. When we first decided to go to Philippines to visit my family, we thought of just staying in our island (Hingotanan Island), to spend time with my parents. But when we started talking about the amount of visitors we're going to have everyday, we both said, uuummm 6 days stay in our island alone is a bit too much! For this reason, I contacted my favorite travel agent, and apparently I booked for a 3 days/2 nights stay in this resort, in a SEAVIEW BUNGALOW. Amazing place indeed! This is a perfect gateaway place to escape the hustle and bustle of the urban jungle.

There are two things that make this resort special among the many resorts located in this island of Bohol, first is the green landscape composed of various species of trees and plants; and second is the open swimming pool with a magnificent view of the resort’s white sand beach. This made skinny dipping into the warm water of the pool during night time romantic and peaceful. Another attraction of the resort is a man-made islet located just a few meters away from the beach. This man made islet serves as a diving and snorkeling spot during high tide.
The day we got there, we spent the whole afternoon indulging in exploring the beach, taking photographs. You know the way all their cottages being built in the cliffs, is so impressive! Even you look up from the beach, the view from there is spectacular! Their exquisitely charming thatched roof villas overlooking breathtaking views of the sea, and each bungalow is furnished with a private jacuzzi, mini-bar and refrigerator, remote control air-conditioning, IDD/NDD telephone facilities, cable television and 24-hour housekeeping service to make your stay in this paradise a sheer indulgence. The guestrooms, each with its private lanai, are clustered into beachfront and garden view cottages. An enclave of cliff side and garden cottages with its unique view of the sea. All I can say is that, the foods at this is also superb! The resort's restaurant serves various local delicacies prepared in a Boholano way. You can also enjoy this food at its gazeebo-type restaurant, beautiful really.

Shopping 'til 12midnight at SM Mall of Asia!

The moment we arrived at Singapore after a 13-hour flight, I was feeling so exhausted plus I didn't manage to get some sleep since I was watching movies. We were on economy section but the movies the airlines has had to offer were absolutely good! So I ended up of staying awake most of the times, maybe only 1-2 hours sleep. As a result, I said to my hubby & myself that the moment we arrive Manila, I will be sleeping and we'll just see my sisters the following day.
We arrived between 6-7pm at the hotel (it was Saturday), I phoned them up as soon as we settled down, and apparently, they were all waiting for us to have dinner outside. Relaxed for about 30 minutes, and we didn't even bother to take shower. So we headed down to the "SM Mall of Asia". What a big surprise to me that it was a MID-NIGHT SALE until Sunday. Lucky huh I should say... imagine you can buy 2 for the price of one, and I was looking forward to it since we don't normally buy in the UK due to their prices, as in extremely expensive!! Look at the happy faces of my sisters huh...of course the big sister too.
I saw my sisters again, I was so pleased to see all of them, as well as my auntie and cousin. We had dinner and went shopping straight away! WOW!!.. shopping again after almost a year. Was funny, because I was so energetic the whole night, while I was very tired just few hours before we arrived. My hubby was just laughing at me, since he knew for the fact that I can't really resist shopping!! hehehe. He must be my husband then, hahaha!!!

We went to the men's section first for his working shorts and shirts, then he sat down after having been taken all he wanted, and its my turn...yepppeyyyyy... I told to my sisters to get 1 pair of trousers (jeans) and 2 blouses for each of them, or they can take anything they want for a total of P2k! You know, it was just amazing to see the happy faces of my sisters, it was also like a bonding time for us, though we didn't spend much time in Manila with them. It was almost 11 o'clock when everybody was finished, while my hubby was sitting looking bored and sleepy. Oh dear, poor boy... Anyway, though we were really worned-out, and had my toes hurting me much, so we had to look for sandals, only after we went to the sea side to have something to eat and drink (photo above). We stayed for about 45 minutes and headed inside the shop again to look for my sandals. Yes, we did manage.
We were back at the hotel at around 12:30 midnight!! Phew, it was after a long taxi queue... in the middle of the night, there were still hundreds of people walking around. We took shower the moment we arrived, and sleep like dead!! The following morning, we woke up at around 9am, dressed up and headed down to my hair dresser to have had my hair relaxed and apply cellophane, straight to my derma and went back to MOA again...hahaha... a never ending shopping... well we only took advantage of the cheap stuffs!!

Now, we had a problem of how to fit those in to our suitcases, the fact that we still had all the presents for people in Bohol where my parents are.

Have Flown from Singapore to Manila

Before, when I go on a month break at work or vacation, I used to travel to Philippines via Hongkong from Johannesburg, for a total of 13-14 hours flying time, every single year! Currently, I travel with my husband to the UK (as my contract base), so we go from Johannesburg to London-Heathrow, which we then we decided to go to Philippines to visit my family last September. We had flown by Singapore Air which is via Singapore, through online booking. It was my very first time to see their airport, and it was lovely. The only trouble that we had was, it was a very long flight. Imagine a total of 13 hours from London Heathrow to Singapore, plus another 4 hours from Singapore to Manila.

Singapore Changi Airport is a major aviation hub in Asia, particularly in the Southeast Asian region, and is the main airport in Singapore. I was so impressed really how they managed to connect their various terminals by trains, railings on sky ways. Also, beautiful trees and gardens which being taken care off well by their staffs. We took some photographs of ourselves while waiting for our flight to Manila.
We planned to go for a free three-hour city tour, but we didn't realize that we have to have at least 5 hours allowance before our next flight! Actually, we arrived at Singapore more than 5 hours before our next flight, but since we stopped for coffee (before inquiring regarding the tour), we have missed it. Never mind, better luck next time.

Please click here to read more about Singapore airport.

Shopping at TESCO Supermarkets in UK

Anything we need to buy in terms of foods and other basic daily needs, we always go to shop in Tesco. They always try to put their prices down compared to any other supermarkets around UK. What I like to shop here especially between 7 'til 9pm is that, they cut the prices down up to 50% discount in terms of foods (fruits, meat, yoghurts, etc...) which its expiration is close to an end. Honestly, you can save a little bit of extra penny here. When you plan to cook the following day or after two days, then they would still be fine to keep. But beyond that, I don't think would be a good idea.
By the way, you can also shop online. I used to wonder why people still bother to drive to go to Tesco while you can actually shop online. The thing is, as much we love shopping online, we always rather to go, drive and shop around. Does it make sense to you? On the other hand, I asked as well that why people still have to order online while they can actually drive and go to the nearest Tesco.

Well, I have learned that, 1st - not all people in the UK have cars, 2nd - not all places there have Tesco, 3rd - they offer loads of discounted prices online, 4th - you can see loads of options which you could not see in most of their shops, and last one - you tend not to spend more especially of bringing your kids to shops, they'll spoil your budget.

Enjoy shopping, while spending less....

We Visited The DRUSILLAS Park in Sussex

Lovely area with animals housed in natural settings. With my sister-in-law, her husband and son, my hubby and I altogether. We arrived there at about lunch time, from Kent to Sussex. With hundreds of fascinating and entertaining creatures, there is plenty of animal magic to enthral and excite everyone from the youngest to the oldest visitor!

But animals are only half the fun at Drusillas Playland is paradise for anyone who needs to let off steam, packed with slides and swings, ropes and climbable things. And that’s not all...they’ve got:
Award winning Drusillas Park is widely regarded as the best small zoo in the country and is fast becoming recognized as one of the most popular places for children in the south east of England. With over 130 animal species in naturalistic environments there is plenty to enthral everyone from the youngest to the oldest visitor.

Animals include the popular meerkats where children can climb inside a dome to get really close to the animals, as well as penguins, otters, beavers, lemurs, gibbons, a range of monkeys, and a walk-through bat enclosure to name but a few.

There is also Petworld, which contains everything from rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets to cockroaches, stick insects and giant land snails while the Petting Barn provides an opportunity to stroke and groom a variety of friendly goats.
Enjoy a creepy crawly experience at Bugworld, which houses a wide variety of spiders and insects. You can also watch some of the animals being fed such as the penguins at 11.30am and 4.00pm and the otters at 3.15pm daily. However, animals are only half the Drusillas experience.

Playland, including Monkey Kingdom, has masses of climbing, sliding, jumping and swinging fun thoughtfully separated for different age groups. Indoors there is Amazon Adventure, a state-of-the-art soft play complex, as well as the Toddler Village and Toy Stables which are a hit with the under 6s.
Plus Thomas & FriendsTM, including Annie and Clarabel, have steamed into Drusillas offering unlimited train rides around the park! In addition to this there is also the Zoolympics Challenge, the Animal Spotter Books and Stamping Trail, Jungle Adventure Golf, Panning for Gold*, Penguin Plunge*, Vertical Limit*, the Discovery Centre and Wacky Workshop*, Explorers Restaurant, Oasis Café, five shops plus an interesting and varied event diary which runs throughout the year.

Bonding with my Family in UK

Few weeks before we went home in UK, we were already told that my hubby's Dad was going to have his operation on his right arm (not entirely sure if right or left side). In any case, we didn't make any plan at all of going to anywhere around UK apart from our plan to visit my family in the Philippines, though we were not sure either if we could as well. Is short, it was depending on his Dad's condition when we get home! Anyhow, we didn't know the plan was changed until we arrived (his parents picked us up at the airport), and they both told us that his operation was moved to another month later. As usual, they were both pleased to see us again, though he had to wait for another month and would go through experiencing occasional pains. I really felt sad when I heard the news, but happy at the same because this would mean for us to have time together, going around the county or any places altogether.
We arrived on a Friday morning (which normally is unless we decide to change our flights), which we generally stay over the weekend and go to our flat by beginning of the week (either Monday or Tuesday morning). My mother in-law always prepares special English foods for us during our stay in their place, which is why I have put on so much weight! LOL, uuummm blaming my mother-in-law and her food or not doing any exercise at all! hehehe... I tell you what, every single time we come back from vacation, every one would notice that I put on weight again, and MUST BE THE ENGLISH FOODS!!

By the way, speaking about putting on weight after marriage, seriously, I have read one article about how the lifestyle of married couple changes as soon as you get married (only to those stay together). I would wish to stay single again, hehehe...

Anyway, it was nice to see my hubby's nephew Alfie as well. He has grown up a lot since last April, he is as cheeky boy as ever!...whatever he sees around, he'll try to do it himself...he is such a clever child really. So they had to buy small things for almost anything in the house, from broom, pail, hoover, brush & dustpan set, etc... as you can see, he waters the plants.

September was such a lovely time of year, Autumn and close to winter, which you begin to feel the cold puff of air. We've really had experienced a nice weather when we were there, not until the last week before we left. In some stage, we went out to buy plants for our future garden, but then we didn't have much time to finish it.

Rugby Player Suicide (after an accident left him paralyzed)

Daily Telegraph newspaper (UK's leading newspaper) is my hubby's dad's favorite to read every single day, his day wouldn't have completed without reading this newspaper. Anyway, it has become my favorite reading material too, aside from my Cosmo and OK! magazines. Now, that we are back at work in Angola, I check their website occasionally and this morning this is what I have read, a very sad story!!

The emails from the mother of rugby player Dan James, who killed himself in Switzerland after an accident left him paralyzed. They reveal the depth of the family's emotions.

"We returned from Switzerland on the 12 September after accompanying our 23 year old son who had been left tetraplegic after a rugby accident. Dan found his life so unbearable and had tried to commit suicide three times, other than to starve himself to travel to Switzerland was his only option. Whilst we were away some "well meaning" person involved with social services took it upon herself to call the police. This person had never met Dan before or after his accident and obviously gave no consideration for our younger daughters who had seen their big brother suffer so much, and the day before had to say goodbye to him. I hope that one day I will get the chance to speak to this lady and ask if she had a son, daughter ,father, mother, who could not walk, had no hand function, was incontinent, and relied upon 24 hour care for every basic need and they had asked her for support, what would she have done?! Our son could not have been more loved and had he felt he could live his life this way he would have been loved just the same but this was his right as a human being, nobody but nobody should judge him or anyone else."

A Cup of Tips to Start up your Day

I got this from one of my friends, this is funny! Basically, a boss and workers relationship, and normal daily undertakings. Hope you'll like it and get moral lessons and apply them while in the middle of your journey in carrier life. Enjoy!!

LESSON 1
A junior manager, a senior manager and their boss are on their way to a meeting. On their way through a park, they come across a wonder lamp. They rub the lamp and a ghost appears. The ghost says, "Normally, one is granted three wishes but as you are three, I will allow one wish each" So the eager senior manager shouted, "I want the first wish. I want to be in the Bahamas, on a fast boat and have no worries." Pfufffff. and he was gone. Now the junior manager could not keep quiet and shouted "I want to be In Florida with beautiful girls, plenty of food and cocktails." Pfufffff. And he was also gone. The boss calmly said, "I want these two idiots back in the office after lunch at 12.35pm."

MORAL OF THE STORY IS: "ALWAYS ALLOW THE BOSS TO SPEAK FIRST"

LESSON 2
Standing in front of a shredder with a piece of paper in his hand, "Listen," said the CEO, "this is a very sensitive and important document, and my secretary has left. Can you make this thing work?"

"Certainly," said the young executive. He turned the machine on, inserted the paper, and pressed the start button.
"Excellent, excellent!" said the CEO as his paper disappeared inside the shredder machine. "I just need one copy."

Blood........ I should be in charge because I circulate oxygen for the brain. Stomach... I should be in charge because I process food to the brain. Legs......... I should be in charge because I take the brain where it Wants to go. Eyes......... I should be in charge because I let the brain see where

it's going. Asshole.....I should be in charge because I get rid of your waste. All the other parts laughed so hard and this made the asshole very mad. To prove his point, the asshole immediately slammed tightly closed and Stayed that way for 6 days, refusing to rid the body of any waste whatsoever.

Day 1 - Brain got a terrible headache and cried out for relief

Day 2 - Stomach got bloated and began to ache terribly

Day 3 - Legs got cramps and became unstable

Day 4 - Eyes became watery and vision became blurred

Day 5 - Blood became toxic and poisoned the body

Day 6 -The other organs agreed to let the asshole be in charge.

MORAL OF THE STORY: "NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE, OR HOW IMPORTANT YOU THINK YOU ARE, YOU WILL FIND THAT IT IS ALWAYS THE ASSHOLE THAT IS IN CHARGE"

Have you ever heard about this? I have learned this one from my sister who works in Taiwan, she said that they aren't much noticed of using this program that they are chatting online while working than of using the YM, so I did install it only to continue communicating with her constantly. This is just a simple and another way of communicating online, while you can make free international calls at the same time. Like skype, you can just simply get online, put your headset on and talk to your love ones. Google talk introduces us all to a different ways and approach of instant communications.

It works perfectly on your pc's, why not trying now.. I will try to get the same on my cellphone too, so I could be able to talk to her even if I'm not at work by using our wifi connection.
